Spring has sprung!

Wow, do I love springtime.  Spent the entire day outside yesterday playing with my boys and just lounging around in the sun.  Although I felt a little guilty about letting everything else slide (housework, shopping, soapmaking, you get the picture), I wouldn't have done it differently.  And for the first time in a long time, everyone slept well last night.

As for soap making, I've been so busy getting ready for my first craft fair coming up Mother's day weekend.  I"m excited but a little nervous.  I have no idea what to expect.  I'm a wreck just wondering if I've made enough product or too much soap/lotion, and also trying to figure out the design of my booth.  Its an indoor show so I don't have to worry about setting up a tent.  I will post some pictures once I have it figured out.

I've been making soap, lotions, bath fizzies and scrubbies like mad.  And trying to keep up with orders.  Its been a little crazy around here, so I guess yesterdays fun in the sun was a nice, well-served break.  But, Chris and the boys went out to breakfast to give me some time to get caught up with the house and spend some quiet time in my workshop, so I guess that's where I'll be heading soon.  If anyone has any good ideas for craft shows, I'd love to hear about them.
Enjoy your day!

Happy St. Patricks Day!!!

I always love the week before the big parade here in town.  There is an excitement that brings me back to childhood as I watch all the chairs being put out on the sidewalk and the vendors start bringing in their carts.  Unfortunately we won't be around this year to see the parade.  We decided to take the boys away for the weekend museum hopping in Boston!  Yeah, I can't wait.

Today I made my first batch of bath fizzies.  They turned out a little lopsided, I think I took them out of the molds too soon.  Oh well, I now have two dozen bath bombs to enjoy myself ;-)

In April I will be hosting a giveaway for Mother's Day.  Be sure to sign in as a follower so you can have a chance to win a basket filled with awesome gifts for mom.  And I promise that the bath fizzies in your basket won't be lopsided, lol.

Enjoy the first weekend of spring.

I can't wait for Spring!

So, as February comes to a close all I can think about is spring, as it poured freezing rain here all day.  With the kids home from school sick I was able to make some new soaps.  I made some really simple daisy and tulip soaps for my upcoming first crafts fair.  I also made tons more of the cookie sandwich soaps and started making s'mores soaps.  These were a lot of fun to make, hopefully everyone will get some fun out of using them.  Check out the site in a couple of days to see the new soaps.  I did a shamrock soap for St. Paddy's day and tomorrow I am going to make some beer soap to go with it, because after all, what's St. Patricks day without beer ;-)

Welcome!

Welcome to Olimax Soap!  Where you can find luxurious soaps alongside fun-kid inspired soaps.  Part of the fun being a soap maker is sharing the soaps.  But, there is only so much soap you can make for family and friends and that is when I decided to make the leap into the business world.  In December I opened my shop on Etsy, and once word got out locally, I have been very busy.

Today I made my first batch of goat's milk and honey lotion.  It was quite messy, lol.  But, my hands felt so moisturized afterwards!  This lotion is fabulous = silky and creamy but not at all heavy or greasy.  It's very gentle and safe for sensitive skin.  This is the lotion I will be using on my two little boys from now on.

Check out my store at http://www.olimaxsoap.etsy.com/ for all my great products.  I use only the most natural products I can, and try to be as environmentally conscious as possible.
Please check out the site often as I am updating and adding new products often.  And don't forget to check in here frequently as I will be posting discount coupons on my blog that will not be available elsewhere.

Hope to see you here often!
